Can I hit the ball if it isn't red?

Why did I die even though I clicked?

Timing is everything. If you swing too early or too late, the ball will hit you.

Can I run away from the ball?

The ball auto-targets and tracks you flawlessly. Running away will only delay the inevitable—you must deflect it!
